As many as 2,500 Bharatiya Janata Party workers will donate blood to blood banks maintained by the Indian Army, paramilitary forces and government hospitals in Delhi as part of the 98 birth anniversary celebrations of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.
“About 2,500 workers connected with the 14 Districts, Morchas and Cells of the party shall donate blood and arrangements for Eye Donation Pledge Encouragement Camp have also been setup on this occasion. We have received information from about 200 workers for eye donation pledge,” said Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay about the events that will be held at the Thyagaraj Stadium on September 25.
Mr. Upadhyay said several senior leaders, including Rajnath Singh, M. Venkaiah Naidu and Harsh Vardhan, will participate in the programme. On September 27, the party will organise a symposium in the civic centre to present the philosophy of Integrated Humanism of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay before the workers, he said.
“As per the programme, concrete steps will be taken to implement the schemes connected with social welfare and to end corruption in works connected with Municipal Corporations in order to realize the dreams of Panditji,” he added.
