24 lakh to write board exams from Monday

In all, 13,73,853 Class X students will appear for the Central Board of Secondary Education examinations this year, a 3.37 per cent hike compared to last year.

The CBSE board examinations for both the Classes X and XII will start from March 2.

While 8,17,941 boys against 5,55,912 girls will sit for the exam, the CBSE said in a statement issued on Friday.

Last year, 13,28,970 students had appeared for the examinations.

In the case of Class XII, 10,40,368 students will appearing for the exam, 6,07,383 of whom are boys. The percentage increase of total students appearing is 1.01 as compared to last year, the statement added.

Value-based questions in all major subjects for Classes X and XII up to 3-5 marks will be included this time around.

The questions will be based on content and analysed on the basis of the values they reflect. — PTI
