Two persons got injured after they clashed with each other over sharing a parantha in east Delhi’s Trilokpuri on Saturday night, the police said on Monday.

DCP (East) Pankaj Singh confirmed that Irshad (19) and Mohd Hatim, both residents of Trilokpuri, were injured in the physical fight. A cross first information report on charges of causing hurt, criminal intimidation, wrongful confinement among others has been registered, he said.

Irshad, an e-rickshaw driver, said that he had gone to eat paranthas at an eatery where Hatim also came and took a bite from his plate. “I told him that I will feed a cattle but not him. He got angry and stabbed me. Then his entire family came and thrashed me,” he said.

On the other hand, Hatim alleged, “Irshad called his brother Imran and they attacked me with a blade on my head.”

Irshad said that they were friends but developed differences due to some personal issues.

“Hatim had said some nasty things to my friend’s girlfriend. When my friend confronted him on Saturday afternoon, Hatim hit him with a key. I was angry with him over that,” he said.

Taken to hospital

The duo was taken to Lal Bahadur Shasti Hospital from where they were later discharged.

Mr. Singh said that four people including Irshad, his brother Imran, Hatim and his father Mohd Shahid have been booked but later Irshad and Hatim were arrested. “The duo was later released on bail. Further investigation is under way,” he said.
