A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a neighbour in Shahdara’s Anand Vihar on Tuesday. Two accused, including a woman, were arrested on Thursday, the police said on Friday.
Sedated
The victim, a resident of a JJ cluster in Anand Vihar, was alone at home at the time of the incident when her 22-year-old neighbour Reena lured her to her house.
“The girl was alone at home and knew Reena. When Reena called her over, the girl did not hesitate,” said the police.
Reena offered the victim a drink allegedly laced with sedatives.
“The girl fell unconscious. She gained consciousness a few hours later and saw a man lying next to her. She realised that she had been raped,” the officer said.
The man was identified as Babu (22), a conductor at Anand Vihar bus stand. The police said the girl was in shock for two days and finally told her mother about the incident on Thursday. “The mother approached the police, and both Reena and Babu were arrested the same day,” said the officer, adding that the girl was counselled.
The police said Reena and Babu are neighbours. She called him home after she allegedly sedated the girl.
