An 11-year-old boy died at Safdarjung Hospital here after allegedly being beaten up by his classmates on Saturday.

The boy, who had complained about feeling uneasy on Saturday night, was brought to Safdarjung Hospital after being referred from another hospital.

Class V student

The deceased, Vishal, was a Class V student at a school in Rohini. He lived with his parents and two younger siblings.

On Saturday, he had told his parents about a fight he got into with his classmates.

The incident took place on Friday when the boy allegedly fought with two-three of his batchmates.

He did not mention the fight to his familiy that day.

On Saturday, however, he complained of a sharp pain in his stomach and told his parents that he would be unable to go to school.

Parents allege murder

The police are now awaiting the post-mortem report before a case is registered.

In their statements, Vishal’s parents have claimed that the boy was scared to go back to school.

He wanted to go to a hospital, they said.

His parents finally took him to Ambedkar Hospital, from where he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital.

While the parents have alleged murder, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rishi Pal said there were no external injuries on Vishal’s body as per the medical report.

“No PCR call was made. However, on the request of Vishal’s father, a medical board will be constituted to conduct a post-mortem examination,” said Mr. Pal.
