The district administration, in association with the Disaster Management Cell in Noida, is all set to hold an earthquake evacuation drill at 101 schools. The final drill is likely to be held at 11 a.m. on April 27.

Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate N.P. Singh chaired a meeting to this end with 101 principals of government and CBSE schools on Tuesday at Sector 6 in Noida.

District administration officials, voluntary organisation representatives and disaster management experts were also present.

Rehearsal drills

The schools will conduct a few rehearsal drills before the final drill.

Stating that Noida fell in seismic zone IV, the District Magistrate said: “Since Noida falls in an earthquake-prone zone, it’s important to make the students and residents aware of what they should do in case of an earthquake.”
