Youth held for harassing minor girl

The Coimbatore District Rural Police have arrested L. Savin Kumar (24), a resident of the Nilgiris district, on charges of harassing a minor girl.

According to the police, he had harassed the girl during a bus ride from Chennai to the Nilgiris on Saturday.

The Sirumugai Police have registered a case under the Prevention of Women Harassment Act and have remanded Savin Kumar in custody.

Chain-snatching

A 36-year-old woman was robbed of two sovereign chain on Saturday.

According to the police, Jaya Arokiya Mary, a resident of Kuniamuthur, was walking along the Church Road around 5 p.m. when two persons riding on a motorcycle snatched the chain.

The Kuniamuthur Police have registered a case .

Held for gambling

The Coimbatore City Police have arrested nine persons for gambling and seized Rs. 1.31 lakh in cash.

According to the police, they were held during a raid at a warehouse on Annamanickkar Street on Saturday. The Kuniamuthur Police have registered a case and are investigating
