PDS rice seized
Police personnel during a vehicle check at Govindanaickanur near Kinathukkadavu intercepted a speeding cargo autorickshaw and found 800 kg of Public Distribution System rice which was about to be smuggled across to Kerala. Police arrested two persons travelling in the autorickshaw namely Radhakrishnan and Hariharan hailing from Palakkad. Inquiries revealed that the PDS rice was sourced from PDS shops and cardholders in Ukkadam area. Further investigations are on.
