Young extension professional award to TNAU scientist

Dr C Karthikeyan, Professor of Agricultural Extention and APRO, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here has been conferred the “Young Extension Professional Award”.

The award, carrying Rs 5,000, citation and a memento, was presented during an International Conference on “Extension Education Strategies for Sustainable Agricultural Development - A global perspective” held in Bengaluru recently.

He presented a research paper titled “pilot testing and upscaling of e-velanmai - an ICT enabled Agriculture extension approach,” which was adjudged and awarded as the best research paper, a TNAU release said on Monday.

The paper highlighted the adoption of the ICT Enabled agriculture extension model for technology transfer to farmers by the grass root level extension officials of the State Department of Agriculture, it said.
