Woman killed in road accident in Pollachi

A 36-year-old woman was killed in a road accident at Pollachi on Wednesday.

According to the police, Muthu Bala was riding a two-wheeler along the Udumalpet-Pollachi Road when she was hit by a car. She died on the spot.

Six people, including two children, travelling in the car were hurt in the accident. Komangalam Police have registered a case and are investigating.

Three arrested

Three persons were arrested on Wednesday for injuring a person with a knife. According to the police, Nagaraj, 28, was working as a painter with Siva and Anandhan. When Nagaraj asked them his wages, they asked him to come to Palladam Road to collect it. Later, they assaulted Nagaraj and injured him with a knife. Nagaraj was admitted to Pollachi GH. The Pollachi Mahalingam Police arrested Siva, Anandhan and their accomplice.
