The Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangam has petitioned Coimbatore Rural SP to withdraw personal security officer (PSO) allotted to D. Prabhakaran (30) of Elachipalayam, one of the three social activists arrested by the Karumathamapatti police on Monday last for staging a protest seeking compensation for the victims of roof collapse at Somanur bus stand.

Anti-social activities

The farmers’ association has accused Prabhakaran of having involved in anti-social activities and sought the police to withdraw the PSO.

According to the police, the petition also said that Prabhakaran and two others, V. Manoharan (57) of Somanur and K. Velusamy (30) of Unjapalayam, were acting against the State and hence they did not deserve PSO allotted by the State.

The police said that the petition was with the SP and no action has been taken yet.
