Widow of ex-MLA receives pension with arrears

Tamil Nadu Government has sanctioned a family pension of Rs 3,000 per month to the widow of M Chinnasamy, who represented Modakurichi assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu assembly from 1967 to 1976.

C Parvatham, widow of the MLA who died in 1979, received Rs 96,000 as arrears.

Ms. Parvatham was granted the pension after Lower Bhavani Ryots Association president C Nallasamy submitted memorandum to authorities as she had lost various documents regarding her husband.

The arrears amount and orders granting pension were handed over to her by District Collector R Sudalikannan on Wednesday.
