‘Wave against AIADMK to benefit DMK’

March 17, 2014 11:54 am | Updated May 19, 2016 09:16 am IST - TIRUPUR:

Saying that there is a silent and strong wave against All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) across the State, the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK) state general secretary Thamimun Ansari sounded confident that the DMK-alliance would be able to capitalise on it and score a comprehensive victory in all the seats in the Tamil Nadu.

Wrong policies

He said that the people were disappointed with the State Government as its wrong policies contributed to the raging inflation, and severe power crisis, which the government failed to address, resulting in many entrepreneurs shifting their production/processing bases to places outside the State.

The State Government failed to stick to the pre-poll promises of the AIADMK increasing the reservation for minority communities, he said.

Each of the Lok Sabha constituencies in the State has an aggregate of 15 to 20 percent of Muslim and Christian electors combined, who will vote for the DMK-alliance in which parties like MMK are constituents, he said.

“Modi wave” was a creation of the media, Mr. Ansari said.
