Water supply disconnected

The Coimbatore Corporation on Saturday disconnected water supply to eight property tax assessees after they failed to pay the tax, according to Commissioner in-charge S. Sivarasu.

He said that the property tax collection as on Saturday stood at 70 per cent.

In a release, the Coimbatore Corporation said that the city residents with property tax, water charges and professional tax dues should immediately clear the same. And they should do so till the second half of the current year.

The Corporation had intensified the water supply disconnection drive for residential buildings as well as commercial establishments. All assessees in apartments should clear the dues and also pay for the current term for, if they did not do so, the supply to the entire apartment complex would be stopped.

The release asked the residents to clear the tax dues.
