With the objective of preventing unauthorised persons from entering the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH), a new system of providing wrist bands and temporary entry cards has been introduced.
Vijayalakshmi Trust, which was implementing hygiene and security measures to the tune of Rs. 1 crore every year at CMCH, is executing this project.
Security
According to officials, the trust had posted security personnel at all entry points.
They would ascertain the purpose of visitors before providing them with these wrist bands.
The trust also presented a bus to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital in the presence of Health Minister K.C. Veeramani on Sunday.
It will be used for students of Coimbatore Medical College.
Another bus would be given shortly.
Sanctioned
Further, the State Government had sanctioned two buses for the College, he added.
The Health Minister also interacted with patients in various wards and obtained feedback from them.
The responses were largely appreciative of the services rendered at the hospital.
He also held discussions with the hospital officials and O. Arumugasamy, founder of the Vijayalakshmi Charitable Trust.
