An associate of forest brigand Veerappan, who was shot dead few years back, was arrested after 16 years, police said here on Monday.
Police said Sekar, one of the close associates of Veerappan, was absconding since 1994.
Armed with a non-bailable warrant issued by district Superintendent of Police, Sekar was arrested at Kadathur near here on Sunday.
He was produced before a Fast Track Court here which remanded him to judicial custody, police said.
