Unidentified body found on Mettupalayam road

An unidentified body was found on the ghat section on Mettupalayam-Udhagamandalam road on Wednesday with wounds on the forehead.

The police said that the deceased is aged between 35 and 40. The body also had a stab wound above left eye.

The body was noticed by Ganesan, an anti-poaching staff of the Forest Department, near the second hairpin bend of the ghat section coming under Kallar forests where some construction works are currently going on. The Mettupalayam police reached the spot and shifted the body to Government hospital for post-mortem. The police have registered a case.

Man dies

Ranjith Kumar (34), a native of Bihar, died when he came in contact with a heavy machine which injured his hip. He was working at a grinder manufacturing unit near Peelamedu.

A resident of Krishna Nagar near Goldwins, Kumar was working in the machinery section when the accident occurred.

Though rushed to the hospital, Kumar was declared brought dead. The Peelamedu police have registered a case.
