Two year Textile management course

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Textile Management here will offer a two-year textile management course in association with Indira Gandhi National Open University from this year.

Director of the institute S.R. Pujar told The Hindu that this would be a regular programme and would be held from July 28. From next year, this would be offered under distance education too. The MBA degree would be awarded by IGNOU and the certificate of field training by the textile management institute.

The last date for receipt of completed applications is July 5. The applications can be downloaded from www.svpitm.ac.in or www.svpitm.co.in

Those who have completed Plus Two and a three-year degree programme can apply. Those who have appeared for the final year examination at college can also apply.

Mr. Pujar said the institute would soon be upgraded into an international institute and renamed as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textile Management.

The institute, located on a six acre site, had sought Rs.100 crore from the Union Government to upgrade the infrastructure.
