Two persons succumb to injuries

Two persons, who sustained injuries after a temple car and an old coconut tree fell on them – in separate incidents – died at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Wednesday.

In the first incident, R. Karuppusamy (60) of Marudhur near Ramanathapuram was badly injured when a temple car fell on its side and landed on him during the late hours of March 29. With injuries all over his body he was treated in CMCH, where he died.

In another incident, S. Amsaveni (35), a washerwoman of V.Vadugapalayam near Sulur, died at CMCH due to injuries she suffered after a coconut tree fell on her. Police inquiry revealed that the woman and her husband P. Subramani (42) were washing clothes in the same village on Saturday when the tree fell on her back.
