Two intruders caught in Pappanaickenpudur workshop

Residents of Pappanaickenpudur on Wednesday night caught two intruders in a workshop in the area.

Members of the public reportedly beat them up and informed police.

The two were injured when they tried to escape from their pursuers, by climbing over a barbed wire fence.

However, they were caught and handed over to police. Sai Baba Colony police identified one of them as Manikandan of Anbu Nagar and the other as Gnanasekaran.

Found dead

A 19-year-old girl doing her B. Com CA in a college at Peelamedu was found dead at her residence.

Police suspect she died because she consumed malachite powder. Based on a complaint lodged by her father Ayyasamy, Singanallur police have registered a case and investigations are on.

Fatal fall

Prabhakaran (19) of Kempatty Colony who was on an outing with his friends, died when he fell into a 100-feet-deep well near Sungam Bypass Road. Ramanathapuram police recovered the body and are investigating.
