Two held for dowry harassment in Tirupur

The All Woman Police (Tirupur North) arrested K. Nagendiran (24) and his father S. Krishnan (56) on the charges of demanding dowry from N. Rekha, wife of Nagendiran, and compelling her to opt for divorce.

Police sources said Nagendiran, a resident of Chamundipuram here, married Rekha, of The Nilgiris district, on December 11, 2013.

Soon after the marriage, the accused demanded dowry and when the woman refused, she was asked to settle for divorce, the police sources added.
