A motorcycle-borne youth sprayed chilli powder on the faces of two farmers at Sandegoundenpalayam near Kinathukkadavu and robbed them of Rs. 20 lakh on Thursday afternoon.
According to the police, S. Dharmalingam (48) of Sandegoundenpalayam and M. Krishnamurthy (42) of Ponnapuram were returning on a two-wheeler after selling a farm land and were in possession of Rs. 20 lakh. The two stopped their vehicle and waited for a relative who was following them on another two-wheeler when the incident happened. At this point of time, the youth who came on a motorcycle sprayed chilli powder on the victims and robbed them of the cash.
Kinathukkadavu police rushed to the spot and held inquiries, and have formed a team to nab the culprit.
