AISECT, a Bhopal-based Information and Communication Technology training company, is implementing a programme on pilot basis to train textile mill workers in Madhya Pradesh. Depending on the success, the company proposes to extend it to Coimbatore region too. AISECT Director Siddharth Chaturvedi told The Hindu that the programme was launched in Madhya Pradesh three months ago.
It was a special kit developed for the textile sector and would be implemented in association with the industries, incorporating their inputs. AISECT had about 8,000 centres in the country, mainly through franchise model, to offer computer education to youth in rural and semi-urban areas. The course contents were available in Hindi, English, Marathi, Gujarathi and Malayalam and, for some of the flagship programmes, the content would soon be developed in Tamil too.
Apart from the IT and non-IT training, AISECT was also involved in several Government projects.
It was installing kiosks in panchayats in Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.
“We are looking at partnering with the Tamil Nadu Government in projects related to rural IT centres and training,” he said.
