Traffic diversions for temple festival tomorrow

In view of the Thandu Mariamman temple festival on April 22 (Wednesday), the following diversions would be in effect from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to a release from the city police, devotees would be taking a procession from Koniamman Temple at 7 p.m. The procession would go through Town Hall, Oppanakara Street, Lingappa Chetty Street, Syrian Church Road, Brooke Bond Road, below the Avinashi Road Flyover, Somasundaram Mill Road and Dr. Nanjappa Road before concluding at the Thandu Mariamman temple on Avinashi Road.

Due to the procession vehicle from Pollachi and Palakkad should take Ukkadam, Valankulam bypass and Sungam junction to reach their destinations in the city.

Those from Mettupalayam Road and Thadagam Road to Palakkad should take the Ponnaiah Rajapuram, Chokkampudur, Sivalaya Theatre and Perur bypass. Vehicles on the Perur road should follow the same route in reverse to reach Thadagam Road and Gandhi Park.

Vehicles heading to the Avinashi Road Flyover should take a diversion at the Anna Statue Junction or J.M. Bakery Junction to Huzur Road to Race Course Road or the Railway Junction to reach Tiruchi Road and proceed to their destination. No trucks should enter the city from 6 a.m. till the procession ends.
