Traffic diversion in Coimbatore on Sunday

The Coimbatore City Police has announced the following traffic diversions ahead of the Vinayagar idol processions and immersions to be organised in the city on Sunday.

Idol immersion

According to a release from the police, a procession will be taken out from Podanur to Sangam Road Junction through Sundarapuram and the idols will be immersed in Kurichi tank.

Vehicles that are heading to Pollachi from Ukkadam will be diverted from the Kurichi Junction, through Podanur, Chettipalayam towards Eachanari.

Vehicles heading towards the city from Pollachi will be diverted through Sundarapuram Tomato Market through the Saradha Mill Road to Podanur to reach the Kurichi Junction.

No entry for lorries

Entry and movement of trucks into the city will be stopped from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on that day.
