Traffic diversion for temple car festival

In view of the Koniamman Temple car festival on Wednesday, City police have announced traffic diversions from 12 noon to 8 p.m. March 4. Vehicles from Palakkad Road to Oppanakara Street should take Valankulam Bypass Road, Railway Overbridge or Perur Bypass. Two-wheelers and light motor vehicles from the Avinashi Road Flyover and Lanka Corner to Palakkad Road should take Goods Shed Road, Big Bazaar Street, Vincent Road to reach Ukkadam. Heavy vehicles should take Lanka Corner, the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital Road, Classic Tower and Valankulam Bypass to head to Ukkadam. Buses can reach Ukkadam through Town Hall, but they cannot go from Town Hall to Vysial Street or Oppanakara Street.

Those heading from Avinashi Road Flyover to Thadagam Road and Mettupalayam Road should avoid Mill Road and take Brooke Bond Road. All vehicles from Mettupalayam Road should reach the Avinashi Road Flyover, through Brooke Bond Road, and reach their destination. Vehicles from Thadagam Road and Perur Road to Palakkad should take Ponnaiah Rajapuram Road, Chokkampudur Road, Ramamoorthi Pathai to reach Shivalaya Theatre, Perur Bypass Road and Ukkadam to proceed further.

As for lorry movement in the city, the release said that there would a ban on lorries entering Raja Street, Range Gowder Street, Edayar Street, Thomas Street, Oppanakara Street, Vysial Street, Big Bazaar Street and Karuppa Gounder Street from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on that day. Vehicle parking is not permitted on Raja Street, Oppanakara Street, Vysial Street and Karuppa Gounder Street on that day.
