Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamath (TNTJ) on Wednesday staged a demonstration in Coimbatore condemning the lynching of a Muslim man in Rajasthan for alleged smuggling of cows.
TNTJ also slammed the BJP-led Centre for murders and anti-social activities against minorities, backward class, journalists, writers and students.
The demonstration near Red Cross Society building was organised as part of TNTJ's statewide protest in major cities Coimbatore. Abdul Rahman, State Secretary of TNTJ, led the protest.
It was on April 4, Pehlu Khan (55) of Alwar district in Rajasthan was attacked by a group 'gau rakshaks' while transporting cattle in Alwar. A few others who was with Khan were also attacked.
Representatives of TNTJ said that the association strongly condemned killing of human lives in the name of cow.
