Members of the ‘Tamizhaga Veettu Vasathi Vaaria Orunkinaintha Othukeetalarkal Nalah Sangam’ staged a demonstration in the city on Monday protesting against the Tamil Nadu Housing Board for delay in issue of sale deeds.

The protesters said that the Housing Board should abide by the High Court and Supreme Court orders on suspension of interest payment and not go by the State Government order on waiving off five months’ interest following the difference in land cost. The TNHB should determine the final prices for its projects in Ganapthy Managar (Phase I to IV), Thendral Nagar, VOC Nagar and VV Nagar in Coimbatore and many other places across the State. This failure of the TNHB had resulted in the beneficiaries not being able to derive any interest concession. The Board should also withdraw the interest levied and issue the title deeds.

The protestors also called for issue of title deeds at the price mentioned at the time of allotment and initiate people-friendly measures.
