Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has received 10,700 applications immediately it made available online applications for admission to undergraduate courses a fortnight ago.
As many as 1,760 candidates had applied on May 6 itself when the process started.
A. Rajarajan, Dean (Agriculture), TNAU, said 25,600 have registered and 10,700 have submitted completed forms.
“The online system offers candidates the freedom to keep editing and revising information till they can submit it. Hence, there are many who are yet to submit the form. They may want to do so after May 27 when they receive the original mark sheet or wait till the last date of submission – June 7. There are many CBSE students awaiting their results,” he said.
All correspondence, including acknowledgements and intimations regarding counselling, will be available online on the website of the university – tnau.ac.in.
The university is offering 1,330 seats in six science programmes and seven technology programmes. There is a helpdesk that functions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
