Tasmac outlet closure in Coimbatore for Pongal

Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac) - run liquor outlets and bars will remain closed on January 14 (birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed), January 15 (Thiruvalluvar Day) and again on January 17 (Vadalur Ramalinga Vallalar birth anniversary) and January 26 (Republic Day).

Similarly, Corporation has announced that all slaughter houses and meat stalls will remain closed on January 15 on account of Thiruvalluvar day.

Violation of the fiat will be dealt with strict action, Corporation Commissioner G. Latha said in a release.
