March 09, 2013 12:04 pm | Updated October 18, 2016 02:40 pm IST - COIMBATORE:

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has taken up load verification in industrial and commercial establishments as fixed charges will be collected with the bimonthly consumption charges bill from next month.

Tangedco officials told The Hindu that according to the latest tariff conditions, fixed charges will be collected from industrial and commercial service connections for the load taken. The verification process has gained momentum in the last few days and is not applicable for domestic and agricultural consumers. The effort is to verify the actual load demand and what the industries are using. Those who have taken extra load will surrender it and details of those who are using more than the demanded load will be known.

The Tangedco is also in the process of installing Maximum Demand (MD) metres.
