Students protest against Mumbai rape incident

Students of Department of Visual Communication of Hindusthan College of Arts and Science at a silent protest in Coimbatore on Thursday condemning the rape of a photojournalist in Mumbai.

Staff and students of the Department of Visual Communication of Hindusthan College of Arts and Science staged a protest in front of the Red Cross Building here on Thursday condemning the attack on a woman photojournalist in Mumbai recently.

Carrying banners that read “We stand for solidarity” and “stop vehemence against women and children” the students raised slogans stressing the same.

They also urged that justice be done to the victim, and women safety in workplaces be ensured.
