Students have said that they felt safe within the confines of the colleges. While some colleges had only a minimal number from the North East, a few others had a considerable number between 25 and 30.

About those staying outside the college premises, the authorities said that till last night their decision was not to leave for home. Since the institutions were closed for three days, there was a possibility they might take a break.
