Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam treasurer M.K. Stalin continued his interaction with Coimbatore residents on Friday by meeting morning walkers, students, industry and trade body representatives, pensioners’ association leaders and members of the public.
Addressing industry and trade body representatives at The Residency hotel, he faulted the State Government for doing very little for the people.
In the past four-and-a-half years, the administrative machinery was paralysed, the Chief Minister under Rule 110 announced impractical schemes in the Assembly and she remained out of bounds for the public.
He told the industrialists and association leaders that the DMK would take into account all their inputs in drafting its manifesto for the 2016 Assembly elections and implement those when it returned to power.
The party had a nonpareil track record of implementing promises.
In preparing the Tamil Nadu budget when it was in power, the party had consulted all sections of society to make it an inclusive exercise, he recalled and asked if the present government had done so.
Demands
Representatives of trade bodies sought a change in the way the Tangedco had categorised them in the power tariff structure, increase ceiling limit for LT lines from 150 HP to 200 HP for pump and pump spare manufacturers to install induction furnace and increase in interest subvention to eight per cent.
Earlier, addressing journalists, Mr. Stalin said that the ‘Namakku Naame’ walk saw enthusiastic response from the members of the public.
He was neither bothered about criticism from other political party nor the efforts to put him down on social networking sites.
He visited the Geedee Museum and spent half-an-hour seeing vintage cars and technical exhibits.
Mr. Stalin also interacted with students and pensioners.
