If you are a cricket-crazy fan, then get ready to watch some real excitement of the Vivo Indian Premier League (IPL) matches on a giant-sized screen coupled with a stadium-like feel at the PSG Institute of Management grounds here this weekend.

The IPL Fan Park atmosphere is certainly going to be electric with the big boys of Indian and international cricket going bang bang with both the bat and the ball. And, there’s lot more such as music and multiple stalls for merchandise, food, beverages by IPL official sponsors.

It is the BCCI’s initiative and the fans are going to love it as they did in 2015 when the IPL Fan Park last visited the city. The crowd, of over 8000, which turned up then went gaga over the sheer skills of the cricketing greats on the screens.

The stage is now nicely set for the second visit of the IPL, which is celebrating 10 years of its success. Besides entertaining matches, there will be interactive stalls for the cricket enthusiasts. Two lucky fans will also get to win VIVO phones as part of lucky draw.

The idea behind screening some of the big IPL matches live in a place like Coimbatore is to give the cricket enthusiasts from smaller cities a stadium like feel, pointed out the organisers.

The IPL Fan Park has grown over three seasons, from 16 cities in 2015 to 36 this year and with it reach out to more fans. For people from cities like Shimla, Shillong, Tumkur, Nagercoil and Bareilly, it's going to be their first IPL Fan Park feel this year.

It’s going to be a double header on both days with Sunrisers Hyderabad locking horns with Rising Pune Supergiants, which figures the ever reliable M.S. Dhoni, popularly called the ‘Captain Cool’ of international cricket, on April 22 at 4 p.m. It will be followed by Mumbai Indians clash against Delhi Daredevils.

On Sunday, Gujarat Lions will be up against Kings XI Punjab (4 p.m.) and Kolkata Knight Riders versus Royal Challengers Bangalore (8 p.m.)

The seats, free of charge, would be available on a first come, first served basis.

The gates will be open from 2.30 p.m.
