The Income-Tax Department will open special counters on July 26, 27, 28, 30 and 31 to enable people to submit I-T returns at Aayakar Seva Kendra, Income Tax Office, 63, Race Course Road, Coimbatore- 641018 and at Income Tax Offices in Erode, Tirupur, Pollachi and Udhagamandalam.
The returns will be accepted in these counters from 9.15 a.m. to 5.45 p.m., on all these days, a press release from the department said on Friday.
Income Tax return forms can also be downloaded from the website www.incometaxindia.gov.in. Assessees should mention their Permanent Account Number, Bank a/c. No, IFSC Code, and mobile phone number in their returns. TAN should also be filled in the schedule in order to avail TDS credit. It may be noted that e-filing is mandatory for assessees with taxable income in excess of Rs.5 lakh.
