The Coimbatore Corporation began on Wednesday special grievances redressal camps in the run-up to the Local Bodies’ Day on November 1.
The camps were being held at the four zone offices. These would go on till October 31, the Corporation said.
“We have asked people to submit petitions relating to their grievances during these camps. Solutions to their problems will be announced at a meeting at the main office on Sunday (November 1),” Corporation Commissioner Anshul Mishra said.
A Corporation official said the petitions on Wednesday were mostly requests for birth and death certificates, marriage assistance under the Moovalur Ramamritham Ammayar scheme, tax assessment and name transfer.
On whether any representations relating to problems in civic amenities were made, the official said there were not much of these types of petitions on the first day.
The officials said that when more people came to know of it on Thursday, there could be representations on core municipal services.
All the grievances were being received and processed.
