The District Administration has asked ration card holders awaiting smart cards to go to the shops concerned to complete formalities.
In a release issued here on Wednesday, the administration said that in the first phase it had distributed cards to 2.70 lakh of the 9.57 lakh beneficiaries in the district who had all the entries correct - gathered from Aadhaar card and the national population registry. It had sent the cards to the ration shops concerned from where the card holders could get the smart cards. Of the remaining cards to be printed, it had come to light that the card holders’ photograph for 1.11 lakh cards was not furnished and card holders’ details for 2.15 lakh cards were not uploaded on to the website.
It had sent the details of such holders to the shops concerned and they were published at the shops. Card holders should go to the shops to see if their names were there in the list and update those within a week’s time.
