Small Hotel, Mess, Bakery and All Food Items Owners’ Welfare Association has urged the Coimbatore City Police to let its members function till midnight.

In a release, the Association has said that though the police have granted permission to run its members’ establishments till midnight, in a few places, the police insisted that the members shut shop by 11 p.m.

Subsidy

Similarly, the Tamil Nadu Government must extend subsidy to its members to buy generators, so that they would be able to run their business during power cuts.

Disruption in power supply had hit hard their business as they were unable to prepare food in time for sale.

The Association’s other demand was a ban on multinational retail giants setting shop in the State.
