Six held for rioting

March 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - COIMBATORE:

Tense moments were witnessed near the Red Cross Building on Friday evening when two groups of highways workers staged a demonstration seeking action against those who were spreading rumours that the State Government was trying to privatise the highways department. Meanwhile, a few persons in one group mixed cow dung powder in water and splashed it on another group of protestors.

Six persons, who splashed the water, were arrested and lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison during the late hours of the day.
