Sankara Educational Institutions organised “Pledge to Vote” signature campaign on February 19 at the Fun Republic Mall. The objective of the campaign was to create awareness on the significance of voting in the Assembly election.

Around 500 first-time voters participated in the campaign.

Students of the institution distributed handbills on the importance of voting and the changes it would bring. Many youth vouched to cast their votes.

Venue for the event was chosen targeting youth – first-time voters and those from the upper class, who normally keep away from the democratic process.

The event was inaugurated by T.P. Ramachandran, Secretary, Sandhya Ramachandran, Joint Secretary, and Nithya Ramachandran, Deputy Joint Secretary, Sankara Educational Institutions.

H. Balakrishnan, Principal, and S. Gowri, Head of Department, MBA, were present in the campaign. Prof. K. Thirugnana Sambanthan and Prof. D. Nithya, co-ordinated the drive.
