The Kuniyamuthur police are on the lookout for a 50-year-old man for allegedly having unnatural sexual practices with a 15-year-old school boy.
The police said that the boy, a Standard IX student, suffered sexual harassment for about one-and-a-half years.
Preliminary inquiry by the police revealed that the boy’s father worked as a driver in the company owned by the accused, Balasubramaniam, for three years.
His family also lived in a house owned by the accused.
It is learnt that the accused was affectionate to the boy and made use of opportunities when the boy was alone to abuse him, from June 2013.
The police said that the issue came to light when the boy informed his parents about the incident on Saturday.
The police, who inquired the victim, said that he was threatened by the accused. They registered a case based on a complaint from the boy’s father.
Team formedA special team was formed to arrest the accused.
He was booked under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and under Sections 377 (unnatural offences) 342 (wrongful confinement) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (ii) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
