Best performers of talent exam conducted for Plus Two and polytechnic-qualified candidates recently by Erode Sengunthar Engineering College received cash awards and educationa assistance certificates constituted in honour of late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
The awards were given separately for boys and girls under two categories at the end of the exam that attracted over 2,000 students from across the State, College Principal V.Venkatachalam said.
Among Plus Two-qualified contestants, the winners: Vijeshwaran of Meenakshi Sundaranar Higher Secondary School, Erode, and G.Tharini of Sri Vidya Niketan HSS, Kangeyam, received ₹ 1,000 cash award and educational assistance certificate for ₹ 10,000 each. Similar awards under polytechnic college category were won by G.Hemanathan of Seshasayee Polytechnic College, and A.Shalini of Sakthi Polytechnic College.
All the participants received educational assistance certificate to the tune of ₹ 5,000 each.
Former Secretary of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, Anna University, P. Rhymend Uthariaraj gave away the cash awards in the presence of College Committee president G.Kamalamurugan.
