Seminar on conflict reporting at Amrita

Amrita School of Communication, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Ettimadai, will organise a seminar on ‘Conflict Reporting and Peace Journalism' here on September 16.

According to a release, the seminar seeks to expose students to subtle and overt issues relating to conflict reporting, interactions between media, Government, Defence and Intelligence, and the relevance of peace journalism.

Experts will speak on journalists' approach to conflict reporting, overcoming stress and trauma that is a natural reaction to conflict reporting, view of Government and military organisations on the coverage of conflict by media, and how practical is peace journalism in media that is event-driven.
