Security arrangements for President's visit reviewed

Officials from the security branch of the Tamil Nadu Police reviewed the security arrangements for the proposed visit of President Prathiba Patil to Coimbatore on June 19.

Officials in the rank of Superintendent of Police and Additional Superintendent of Police from the security branch had a meeting with the City Police Commissioner, C. Sylendra Babu and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), P. Nagarajan.

The President after her arrival would leave for Udhagamandalam by helicopter. After staying at Udhagamandalam for two days, Ms. Prathiba Patil would arrive in Coimbatore on June 22 and stay at the Circuit House.

Floats procession

She would take part in the World Classical Tamil Conference floats procession and inauguration on June 23 and would leave for New Delhi.

The officials from the security branch inspected the place of stay and the place where a stage would be erected for the President to witness the float procession and conference venue.
