“The changes in any educational institution cannot only be supported by technical innovations, but by the involvement of the alumni,” P. Kaliraj, Vice-Chancellor (Officiating), Anna University, said here on Saturday.
Delivering the graduation day address of Sasi Creative School of Business, he said the role of alumni was important to institutions, and hence all of them should contribute to their development.
“Most of the youth follow the existing system of operations in any profession. The contemporary period needs creativity and innovation even in routine work.
Only creativity and innovation will make us stand apart,” Mr. Kaliraj said.
Many changes were going on in the educational system. Youth from rural areas who used to stop with school education were now going in for higher education.
All professional courses had considerable number of students from rural areas.
“Initially, it is ideal as a fresher to be a job seeker. After working one to three years in any organisation, one can start an organisation where you can become a job provider. This requires good strategy and planning. Economic development and prosperity of a country is governed by its competitiveness. As management graduates, you should face the challenges, consider them as opportunities and prove yourself to your family, corporate and to your country,” he said. Rajdeepan Swaminathan, Managing Trustee of the school, presided over the function.
