Thousands of students from across the State took part in the event ‘A Day with Rob’ organised here on Sunday by The Hindu Young World, The Hindu in School and Park Global School.

The POGO Mad fame, Rob enthralled the students during his day-long art workshop for children aged between six and 14.

Using simple materials that can be found at home, he made some amazing objects.

Using a straw, which students probably come across everyday right from using them for sipping cool drinks to tender coconuts, he made a ‘straw whistle’.

It produced funny sounds which evoked peel of laughter from the huge gathering of students.

He also demonstrated to the children how to make this straw whistle.

He followed this up by a demonstration on how to draw an angry looking shark with amazing details in a matter of minutes.

Starting off with just a few geometrical shapes such as ellipses and triangles, he took the children through the process of creating a shark with minimal effort. Rob made the entire process look so easy that most of the children could hardly believe that the shark was their effort.

Rob went on to demonstrate how to draw several other pictures as well. Cultural programmes were also held on the occasion. Around 3,500 students took part in the event.
