Rioting case against six persons

The Coimbatore District Police have registered a case of rioting against six persons. According to the police, Abdul Jailani, 24, a resident of S.M. Nagar in Mettupalayam, had inflicted an injury on Saddam Hussain, 22, also a resident of Mettupalayam, during a scuffle some time ago. In retaliation, Saddam Hussain had gathered a group and barged into the house of Abdul Jailani and assaulted him and his mother Jagaramma, 40, using iron pipes and wooden clubs and also threatened them.

Abdul Jailani and Jagaramma have been admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital and Mettupalayam Government Hospital respectively. Sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapons), 294 (b) (uttering obscene words), 323 (causing hurt), 324 (causing hurt by dangerous weapons) and 506 (ii) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code have been invoked.

The Mettupalayam Police have registered a case and are on the lookout the six persons including Saddam Hussain.
