The summary revision of draft electoral rolls will be taken up in the district in October.

The draft electoral rolls will be published on October 1 and it will be available for the public to check for ensuring the presence of their names and whether any corrections need to be carried out in the particulars. A release from the District Collector M. Karunagaran said that with effect from October 1 to 31, public can submit applications for inclusion of names, deletion, for carrying out corrections by approaching the respective polling station or the taluk offices and can avail the forms.

Those turning 18 years of age as on January 1, 2014 and whose names are not finding a place in the rolls, those who had migrated from one Assembly constituency to the other are eligible to get their names included in the electoral rolls. Form number six for inclusion of names, form number seven for deletion of names, form number eight for carrying out corrections such as name and address and form number 8 A for those who had changed residence within the same Assembly constituency. Special camps for electoral roll revision will be conducted at the respective polling stations on October 6, 20 and 27 (Sundays) and these camps will accept the applications. Public can visit the website www.elections.tin.gov.in and submit their applications online. Applications received till October 31 will be perused and the final electoral rolls will be released on January 6, 2014.
