Residents oppose mobile phone tower

August 21, 2011 01:55 pm | Updated 01:55 pm IST - COIMBATORE:

Members of the Ganapathy Layout Residents Welfare Association had petitioned the Collector against a mobile phone tower in their midst.

In a letter, they had said that work was under way to erect a tower on first cross street in Ganapathy Layout. The residents fear that the radiation from the tower would affect their health, in particular, the health of the 500-odd children who live there. They asked the Collector to visit the site and find a solution.
